How do I access Yoast SEO academy? After purchasing a Yoast SEO academy training course, you are sent a few separate emails:– Your purchase receipt.– Information about your newly created MyYoast account. (Only if you have never made a purchase with the email address you used at checkout before.)– Proof of enrolment for what you have purchased. What are my login details for Yoast SEO academy? Your account for Yoast SEO academy and MyYoast is one and the same. Therefore, you will not need separate login details for MyYoast and Yoast SEO academy. You may need to set a password if this is your first login or have forgotten your password. How can I access my courses? You can access your courses via MyYoast or access your courses directly here. How do I assign a course or subscription to someone else? Read more about how to assign a course or subscription to someone else here. If I assign someone else, can I still do the course myself? No, you can no longer take the course yourself. Unless, of course, you own multiple copies of the same course. Someone assigned me as a student to a course, can I assign the course to someone else? No, only the owner of the course can change the student. Can I still change the enrolled student after enrolling them? As long as the enrolled student has not started the course, you can still assign someone else (including yourself). Can I assign courses from a bundle to someone else? Bundles offer a selection of our Yoast SEO academy courses. The whole bundle can be assigned to someone else, but not separate courses. Can I assign courses from the Yoast training subscription or the Yoast plugin & training subscription to someone else? These subscriptions offer all our Yoast SEO academy content. The whole subscription can be assigned to someone else, but not separate courses. How do I change the name on my certificate? You can change the name that appears on your Yoast SEO academy certificates on the MyYoast account profile page. Read more on how to change the name on your certificate here. Does my course access expire? Course access will expire after a certain amount of time. How long you will have access to your course depends on the course and the date of purchase.Courses purchased after March 27th, 2018You have access to the course for one whole year, starting at the moment of purchase.Courses purchased before March 27th, 2018You have access to the course indefinitely. Once the course has been deprecated, your access will expire exactly one year later.Free coursesFree Yoast SEO academy courses do not expire. They will remain available to you for as long as we offer them.Yoast training subscriptionsWhen you subscribe to one of our subscriptions, access to Yoast SEO academy will only expire when you cancel your subscription. After you have been given a Yoast Academy training course, you are sent an email with proof of enrollment for every unique course you have been enrolled in. If you did not have one yet, a MyYoast account has automatically been created for you when you were enrolled in the course.Your login details for Yoast SEO academyThere are a few different possibilities:– If this is your first product from Yoast, you need to set a password for your MyYoast account. What to do if your organization is tax exempt

If your organization is tax exempt and you haven』t bought from Yoast before, please follow the steps below: Create a MyYoast account Please create an account for your organization. This is the account you』ll be using to buy your plugin subscription. Email our support team Please email us, with the email address you used to create an account in step 1, at [email protected] and make sure to mention 「tax exemption」 in your subject line. Please make sure to provide us with all the data we need to validate your tax exemption, like an EIN number and your organization』s legal name. We will validate your tax exempt status and email you once we』ve done that. At that point we』ll add a flag to your account, which will automatically make sure all your purchases from now on are tax exempt. Make your purchase Once we』ve validated your tax exempt status you can then always buy from us tax free!

If you』re already a customer

If you have already purchased from us, please go into your MyYoast account and click the help button in the lower right corner to contact our support team. Please make sure to provide us with all the data we need to validate your tax exemption, like an EIN number and your organization』s legal name. We will validate your tax exempt status and email you once we』ve done that. If we did successfully establish your tax exempt status we will also refund any sales tax that you』ve inadvertently paid.

In rare cases, you may experience an issue where your Yoast SEO Premium subscription shows as not activated on your site, even though the subscription is active in MyYoast. In those cases, your plugin will still work, despite the 『Not Activated』 status. You just won』t be able to use all the features.

How to troubleshoot the Yoast SEO Premium connection issue

To help you solve the issue, we will need you to install the Query Monitor Plugin. With the plugin, you will be able to provide us with some information on the calls your site is making to our subscription server. For example, with the plugin, we can get information that can help is determine: – What domain does the plugin check?– Is that domain listed in MyYoast?– Does that domain have an active subscription?– Does Query Monitor show something other than a 200 OK?Follow the steps below, to get the information. Install the and activate the Query Monitor plugin You can find the plugin in the WordPress plugin repository. Click on the SEO menu item in the admin menu, and then select Premium. The Yoast SEO Premium screen opens. Hover your mouse over the numbers that appear in the top toolbar. A dropdown menu appears. Select the menu item HTTP API Calls. A popup appears at the bottom of your screen. Click on the Expand (+) sign under the Status column to expand the Status message. Take a screenshot of the popup window, together with the full status message and send it to our support team. On this page, you can find the best ways to contact Premium support.

The notification in Yoast SEO

You probably ended up on this page because you saw the notification that says 「You haven』t activated your Yoast SEO Premium subscription yet! That means you are not benefiting from all the features you have, so please activate your subscription here.」 and want to get rid of it.

When you see this notification, it means Yoast SEO Premium hasn』t been activated for the website you』re on, or your site is unable to connect to MyYoast to verify that it』s activated.

1. Your MyYoast account

I』m a new customer

If you don』t have a MyYoast account yet, we』ll automatically create one the moment you make your first purchase on yoast.com, or when you subscribe to our newsletter. In both cases, the email address used is the username for your account. To activate your account, please set a password by following these steps.

If you don』t want to wait until your first purchase, you can also manually create your MyYoast account on the signup page.

I』m a returning customer

If you ever bought something on yoast.com, recently subscribed to our newsletter or manually created a MyYoast account, you may still have to activate your account. Please set a password by following these steps.

2. Logging in to My Yoast

Once your account is activated, you can log in to My Yoast with an email address and a password. To log in to My Yoast, follow the steps in this post.

If you don』t have a password yet or if you lost it, follow these steps to set or change your password.

3. Finding and installing your products

Once you have logged in, click on Downloads in the menu to find the plugins or trainings you bought.

Not sure how to install a plugin on your site? Read our installation guides. Once you』ve successfully installed the plugin, move to step 4. If you are unable to upload or install Yoast SEO Premium please contact your hosting company or contact our support team.

Note: SEO training courses from Yoast SEO academy are not listed on this page, you can find them on Yoast Academy.

4. Connecting the plugin to your subscription using MyYoast

To receive all the benefits of our Premium plugins, they have to be connected to your subscription, after installation and activation on your website.

5. Configuring your products

Once you have installed the plugin on your site and connected the subscription to your website in MyYoast, you are ready to configure your plugin.

Not sure how to configure a plugin on your site? Read our configuration guides. Once you』ve successfully configured the plugin, you are ready to use it. Feel free to read the following steps for additional information about MyYoast.

6. Switching subscriptions from one site to another

If you connected a subscription to a plugin on a site but decided you want to use it on a different site, that』s easy to do by removing the subscription or site and then adding it to another site.

Please follow the steps here to remove the plugin subscription or site and then add the new site.

7. Removing a site from MyYoast

If you want to remove a site from MyYoast, you can do so from the Sites screen. Please follow the steps here to remove your subscription from your site.

8. Finding orders and invoices

If you need to download an invoice or look up the order number, you can find all that information by clicking Account in the MyYoast menu. Use the navigation at the top of the page to switch between subscriptions, orders, and your account info.

9. Changing your account settings

Go to Account > Profile in My Yoast. Here you can change your email address and password.

10. Deleting your MyYoast account

If you want to stop using Yoast products completely for whatever reason, you can disable your account. This can be done on the Account > Profile page, by clicking the Delete Account button under the Danger Zone section. This will revoke all active subscriptions and shut down the account.

You will need to be logged into your My Yoast account. If you are not sure what your login details are you can reset them using this guide: How Set or Change Your My Yoast Password.

Installing Yoast SEO plugins using Composer

MyYoast offers the ability to install our Premium plugins via Composer. You will find a 『or install with Composer』 link in the Download section of MyYoast.

Creating a developer token

Before you can install any Premium Yoast plugins using composer you will need to create a token to access our secure repository. You can do this by clicking the 『create token』 button in the pop-up you receive when you have clicked the 『or install with composer』 link. You can also create and edit your developer tokens under Account > Profile > Developer tokens.

After you have created the token, go to the Download section of MyYoast and click 『or install with Composer』 again. Then, you will see a pop-up with all the specific commands you need to install our Premium plugins through Composer. We don』t list all of the commands here because they need the developer token which is unique and you can only get through MyYoast.

For future reference (once you』ve set your developer token) you can find the complete list of Composer commands when you go to the Downloads tab of MyYoast and clicking the 『or install with Composer』 link.

Troubleshooting

Caching

Sometimes inaccurate data is stuck in the Composer Cache. Please clear it.

Composer 2.0

Composer 2.0 changes the way repositories are prioritized. You can find more information on the Composer website. In this case, you can use the only attribute. So, your composer.json file should have a line like this:

File Automatically Unzips When Downloaded

File Automatically Unzips When Downloaded

Email programs rely on a web browser when you click a link to download items directly from your email.

If you』re downloading one of our plugins and instead of a .zip file you get a folder, your computer is unzipping the archive immediately. The steps to change this behavior depend on the browser you use to download the file. After you change the behavior, return to MyYoast or your email and download the plugin again.

If the file continues to unzip, please see these suggestions.

Safari

This is a feature in Safari (for Macs only) that』s easily disabled by going into your Safari preferences and unchecking the Open "Safe" files box. Open Safari Click on the Safari in the menu and then Preferences. Shortcut: Command +, or ⌘, Uncheck the box.

Firefox

Open FirefoxClick the hamburger menu button (the three horizontal lines in the top left corner) and choose Options. (On Mac, go to Firefox in the top toolbar and then click Preferences). You』ll automatically be taken to the General settings screen.Scroll down until you see the Applications settings. (see image below)In the box with the Content types (shown in the image below) Search for ZIP (WinRAR ZIP or ZIP archive). Click on the downward pointing arrow next to the item in the Action column to reveal the options. Change to Always ask or Save File.Close the page to save the changes.

Chrome

By default, Chrome does not automatically unzip files. However, there are a number of browser extensions that include this feature. Please temporarily disable all extensions.

Note too, that if you click on the downloaded file in the browser, it will unzip it. Do not click on it. Instead note where the file was downloaded and navigate to it when you install the plugin.

Other Browsers

Please contact the support team for your browser for information on how to disable the automatic unzipping of files.

Still Not Working?

In no particular order, here are some other suggestions:

Please try downloading from another browser or another computer.Disable all browser extensions or add-ons.Some browsers will open and unzip the file if you click the file from the download menu in the browser. Manually browsing to the download folder on your computer avoids this issue.Check your computer』s default file association. This varies by OS and version so our best recommendation is to use your favorite search engine and search for how to set default file association in followed by your OS (Windows, Mac, etc) and version number.

MyYoast is the portal that lets you manage your Yoast products. Sometimes when you log into your MyYoast account, you may see a blank or a white screen (as shown in the image below). Usually, this is not a cause for major concern, as it can be fixed in a few steps.

Click on the appropriate link and update your browser according to the guidelines. If the issue is still present in a different browser, disable any browser plugins or add-ons, such as Adblock, for example.
