Can I use your Schema blocks in the Classic Editor?

Can I use your Schema blocks in the Classic Editor?

In short; no.

The longer answer: The new block editor offers unique opportunities for users, theme- and plugin developers. One of the biggest advantages of the block editor over the classic editor we see at Yoast is that it allows us to properly implement Schema.

That』s why Yoast SEO adds HowTo and FAQ blocks to your editing experience. These custom blocks are using the full potential the block editor offers when it comes to implementing Schema microdata.

The old Classic Editor doesn』t have this block-based structure and thus doesn』t allow the easy implementation of Schema. That』s why Yoast』s custom blocks are not available for the Classic Editor.

If your /locations/ page doesn』t show your locations but instead shows your recent posts, your themes archive.php probably queries directly for the 「post」 post type instead of checking for which post type it should query. You can either fix this in the theme, or you could create a specific template file for your locations page.

Why doesn』t the Video SEO plugin index all my videos?

Why doesn』t the Video SEO plugin index all my videos?

The Cause

Especially on websites with a large number of videos, the plugin can have problems finding all the videos, due to (a shortage of) memory.

The Solution

You should try going to SEO-Video and then re-indexing a number of times. You may need to scroll down to find this feature. However, be sure to leave the 『Force Re-Index』 box unchecked. Once the number in the sitemap is static, it has found all the videos.

Why are my new videos on the bottom of my second sitemap?

Why are my new videos on the bottom of my second sitemap?

The Cause

These videos are on the bottom of your second sitemap because that way only the last video sitemap changes and Google only needs to re-fetch that one instead of re-fetching all the video sitemaps all the time.

The Solution

Do nothing. The last update time is expected to tell Google what』s new.
